Navodyam is an initiative of the SDMC Trust, a family foundation established in 2009 by the promoters of the SAR Group. The group owns popular brands like Livguard, Livfast, Livpure, and Lectrix.
Over the past 15 years, we have collaborated with 26 NGO partners, impacting the lives of over 2.7 million individuals, across the country. We have partnered with NGOs to implement programs on primary education, primary health, livelihoods, and safe drinking water.
The name “Navodyam” is a Sanskrit word that signifies new aspirations and hope, which perfectly encapsulates our mission of empowering individuals and fostering positive change in society.

To impact the lives of 5 million individuals by 2029 through sustainable programs and projects in the areas of primary education, primary healthcare, livelihoods, and access to safe drinking water, creating equitable opportunities for inclusive development. We strive to achieve this in collaboration with implementing partners and co-funders.

Our work is guided by three interconnected principles of Impact, Sustainability, and Scalability. We begin by building programs that deliver impact, which can be measured through robust monitoring frameworks. To make this impact last, we focus on sustainability, ensuring that stakeholders take ownership and that our initiatives can continue without external support. With a solid foundation in place, we strive to scale-up successful models by working alongside co-funders.
We are deeply committed to aligning its work with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a means to create a lasting societal impact. The SDGs are a set of 17 global goals to address some of the most pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges our world faces. By aligning its efforts with the 6 SDGs, we are committed to making positive progress toward social change.
